Happy New Year

Sepia ink and gouache on grey toned Strathmore paper, 144mm diameter. Image can be opened in a new tab for full view.

Not as prompt as I would have wished (prompt, me? The very idea...), but Epiphany is still a good time to wish all of our readers a very happy 2014 from the Chasmosaurs team. Regular readers will already be familiar with the four saurian portraits of the blog authors, but should you need a reminder, you may like to revisit last year's New Year greeting.

Happy New Year!

  2. Happy New Year! And that lovely piece of art more than compensates for the delay.

  3. HNY2U2, Niroot, and all at LITC. According to the Julian calendar, you're early rather than late!

And I like the addition of a small bowler hat to the Anatotitan. With the Dilophosaurus' slightly squashed trilby, 50% of LITC's spirit 'saurs are now wearing hats. I can only hope that we won't have to wait until next year before all are properly attired.

    1. An excuse to still be celebrating Christmas, I suppose. Much as Orthodox Russians actually are as we speak.

I must confess it took me a while to work out whether you were joking or not, Mark. I'm altogether far, far too sensitive these days. Still, you're viewing this post and actually commenting on it, which is a deal more than I've come to expect, so bonus!

    2. Marc, I'd happily draw you (in saurian form) in a top hat. Except you would still be rather out of place, given that the head gear on those two are... in-built, as it were.

    3. Well, Deinonychus feels left out, clearly. I suppose it could sport a feathery crest. That looks like a top hat. Yes.

    4. So it's decided then! A top hat is exactly what I thought for Marc. Perhaps a homburg for Niroot?

When are you guys going to tell David that the blog is will be called "Dinosaurs with Hats" from now on?

Oh, and Niroot, your artwork is lovely despite the lack of headwear.

    5. Thank you so much, Mark.

A homburg is very stylish indeed, though I'm less sure of carrying it off well. Perhaps a turban might suit me better.

  4. A belated Happy New Year to the LITC crew!
