Love in the time of chasmosaurs

I'm sure you've long been wondering - what would chasmosaur love look like? Well, thanks to deviantArtist Durbed (aka Arioch, aka Josep), you need wonder no more.

    Strangely, I'm looking at a blog post about dinosaur sex and have been for a while. All the usual suspects and problems are there but, I have to say, how ankylosaurs managed it has me stumped.

    Now that I look at it carefully I´m thinking that I probably should have spent some more time with the textures and shading ( Although its a bit more updated in my gallery, but I´ll just leave it like that.)

    Ankylosaur sex wouldn´t be probably a lot different than this (In most of the species the dermal plates on the back and pelvis zone weren´t very spiky, AFAIK). Now Stegosaurs and the largest sauropods trying to make babies, that´s the real challenge...

    I always liked the above hypothesis by T-PEKC of how stegosaurs mate. Never actually wondered if it's feasible though.

    Re. Ankylosaurs - what do you think those massive 'bulbous hypertrophied' structures are on the end of their 'tails'.. Experimental designs indeed.
