Shameless capitalism in t-minus 3... 2... 1...
I just uploaded a new line of paleontology tees to my on-line shop, so you can head over there to check 'em out. At the moment, I just have them in white, but I'll be adding designs for black shirts really soon. I pretty much just designed shirts that I'd like to wear, proclaiming my desperate and irrational desire to travel to an ancient era of Earth's history. Here's the (so far, only) Mesozoic representative, based on a Josef Smit illustration of Stegosaurus.
There's a mastodon, dimetrodon, and trilobite available as well. Sorry to interrupt your blog reading with this advertisement. Now back to regular scheduled programming.
I'm so getting one (or two or three) of these one day.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice and all, but why so retro?
ReplyDeleteYou might want to be careful...Flick frowns on including links to shops in individual photo postings. You can put a link in your profile, but you're not supposed to use your photostream for promotional commercial purposes...they've shut down accounts for that kind of thing, FYI.
ReplyDeletepersonally, I like the Permian one. Not just because I love Dimetrodon, but because I like the way it sounds..."I left my heart in the Permian" It sounds the best to me.
ReplyDelete@ Marc - Prehistoric creatures are way more retro than retro.
ReplyDeleteKaty is right, but it seems you can get away with it occasionally. I think it's ok to link from Flickr to a blog post that just happens to contain the link to your shop.
I meant the look of the Stegosaurus - it's outdated (resembling Marsh's original skeletals), but I suspect it's deliberate. In which case, I'd like to know why David went for a 'classic' restoration rather than a more contemporary one.
DeleteOh, I see what you mean. I thought you meant in general since I get a retro feel from the type and colors as well. I was giving you crap though really - I said it in my best snobbish hipster voice, couldn't you hear it?
Delete@Marc Cuz I likes it that way. It's a Josef Smit. I did raise the tail a bit and alter the feet, but for the most part, I just liked it. http://www.copyrightexpired.com/earlyimage/prehistoriclifebeforekt/stegosaurus_ntm_1905_smit_1929.html
ReplyDelete@Katy thanks for the heads up, I'll alter the descriptions.
I think I need to add to my supply of "paleo-shirts." This one should also get a song.

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. I should note that I'm going to be adding slightly altered designs for black tees as well. Really soon, I promise!
