The Unfeathered Bird in the Time of Jersey Boys

Another shamelessly indulgent post which I nevertheless hope is made up for in sheer geekery. On the last day of his visit to London, Chris DiPiazza of Jersey Boys Hunt Dinosaurs met up with Marc and I once again at the Grant Museum of Zoology, where we were also joined by none other than Katrina van Grouw, the brilliant artist and author of The Unfeathered Bird, a book which has not only been mentioned by us many times, but which every reader of this blog should be in possession of by now (and if not, I recommend rectifying the situation post-haste!).

From left: Katrina, Marc, Chris, and me

But that wasn't all. Chris, Marc and I were wearing t-shirts designed by our very own Chasmosaurs blog master, David Orr, featuring dinosaur family crests representative of our saurian portraits.

Love in the Time of Jersey Boys

So, get yourselves Katrina's book! Get David's t-shirts! Support us artists! "Come buy our orchard fruits". You'll forgive my shocking commercial-mindedness, I hope. Blame recent personal circumstances...

As a bonus (such as it is), here is a picture of Chris' first day in London, where we also had the pleasure of Dr. Adam Stuart Smith's company (among that of other dear friends) -- marine reptile expert and our lord and master in another capacity over on the Dinosaur Toy Blog and forum. Chris here sports yet another gem from the Orr Store, from the Dinosaur Hearts series.

Love in the time of Chasmosaurs, uniting the Mesozoic blogosphere. Again, do please forgive the indulgence on my part.

  1. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, Victoria. I hope you were able to find the equivalents of what you were after from my dA store instead? And I hope there won't be any problems with their accepting your payment there either.

  2. Hi David, Marc, Asher and all the LITC readers!

I only just started reading your blog, but I think it's really beautiful. I'm also really excited to check out The Unfeathered Bird, so thanks for mentioning it again in this recent post!

I was thinking, also, that you and your readers might be interested in my company’s new app – Real World Dinosaurs – now available on the app store.

    http://realworlddinosaurs.com

Most of the dinosaurs are cretaceous, not mesozoic, but like this blog the app combines art and science with a love of dinosaurs! Plus there are animations of each dinosaur it covers and more dinosaurs will be added, too!

Anyway, I hope you’ll check it out!

    All our best,

    Tamar and the CGMuse Team

    1. This post was by Niroot (who is a regular contributor!) and the Cretaceous was part of the Mesozoic. But thanks for the kind words. Might have to check out your app.

    2. Oh, sorry for the mix up! Well, anyway, I thought it was cool so I hope Niroot sees this. Thanks for the correction about the Mesozoic time. I get all those periods super mixed up.
      Cheers!

    3. I did wonder who you thought the 'I' in the post was, if you'd read it and seen the pictures. ;) But it was brought to my attention recently that I don't have a profile in the authors section, so perhaps that doesn't help.
