Also THAT SOUNDS AWESOME. Desperately hoping to see a snowy in my parts this year. Every time I see a white plastic bag in a field, I get excited for a split second.davorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04970830405883835452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-41241078659850844572012-01-06T23:12:37.214-05:002012-01-06T23:12:37.214-05:00Ugh, did I miss Bird Day again?

Birds are often some of the only wildlife that people regularly experience, especially in cities. I really like to believe that raising awareness and appreciation of birds will cultivate deeper connections with nature and natural history. I try to be optimistic about that. South Dakota's state bird, the Ring-Necked Pheasant, is a non-native species that folks come from miles around to gun down for sport. I think that says it all about the general attitude here (and probably many other places). In addition to your suggestions above, I think we all should take a couple minutes in honor of Bird Day to collectively cry into our pillows.Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07537143639343069696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-58554202206568980422012-01-05T15:39:36.027-05:002012-01-05T15:39:36.027-05:00But it's not a rip-off. :D It's still you,...But it's not a rip-off. :D It's still you, displaying one facet of your 'schooling'.Nateehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15869685234493116483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-5510204916245728482012-01-05T15:29:15.706-05:002012-01-05T15:29:15.706-05:00Yeah, I own the fact that I rip him off shamelessl...Yeah, I own the fact that I rip him off shamelessly. Awesome owl and hooray for Bird Day!

I was reminded of the bird-dinosaur link as a knowledge taken for granted only yesterday during a brief exchange online with a friend who likes birds, but 'has an aversion to reptiles'.Nateehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15869685234493116483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-66980537802652960972012-01-05T14:19:15.785-05:002012-01-05T14:19:15.785-05:00Nice to see Charley Harper's influence living ...Nice to see Charley Harper's influence living on.Mike Keeseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00147156174467903264noreply@blogger.com
