Predation and "viciousness" is only one aspect of a velociraptor's life, but an aspect nonetheless.

BTW isn't velociraptor being dog-sized irrelevant anyway since we now have Utahraptor, which was just about the size of the "raptors" in the Jurassic Park films?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03904394883991936726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-80851060728606666612013-03-25T17:27:32.772-04:002013-03-25T17:27:32.772-04:00Yes it is mine, a pretty old photo manip now but s...Yes it is mine, a pretty old photo manip now but still working ;) Thanks to the great Gypaetus barbatus!alainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03197301712360220806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-79476508922546730632013-03-14T02:24:18.031-04:002013-03-14T02:24:18.031-04:00I’m glad to find so many useful and informative da...I’m glad to find so many useful and informative data on your website.
TheApprenticeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-89639395701928912062013-03-14T02:13:06.387-04:002013-03-14T02:13:06.387-04:00I have been searching for hours and I haven’t foun...I have been searching for hours and I haven’t found such awesome work.
Raptor
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-19654154005113904392013-03-14T02:04:00.268-04:002013-03-14T02:04:00.268-04:00Your blogs are totally worth giving time and energ...Your blogs are totally worth giving time and energy.
VelociraptorAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-29001252876864260202013-03-14T01:51:34.071-04:002013-03-14T01:51:34.071-04:00A huge round of applause, keep it up.

The Natural History Museum uses the same, shockingly bad CG stock images over an awful lot of its dinosaur merchandise. The Velociraptor is a 'gorilla suit' theropod with bunny hands and a scaly lizardy face, while the T. rex has a misshapen skull and uniform, blunted teeth. Hideous stuff.

Of course, they're far from the only (or worst) example, but came to mind as I visited recently.Marc Vincenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01894846069567096349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-44413085137594967762012-12-12T23:25:38.982-05:002012-12-12T23:25:38.982-05:001970; see B.H. This shows that the posture was much more bird-like than is indicated by previous mounts, and also the tail is shorter. During walking the vertebral column was held nearly horizontal with the tail clear of the ground. The fore-limbs acted as struts to stop the body sliding forward as the animal raised its body from the resting position."davorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04970830405883835452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-24205962952733512312012-12-12T22:29:15.417-05:002012-12-12T22:29:15.417-05:00I wonder if primatologists in the '50's ha...I wonder if primatologists in the '50's had to deal with friends and relatives who were shocked -shocked I tell you- and saddened by the fact that real gorillas aren't anything like in "King Kong"?Trishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08108657342054862720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9107291904794625632.post-48284717438383090602012-12-12T22:26:29.744-05:002012-12-12T22:26:29.744-05:00For what it's worth, there are still "man...For what it's worth, there are still "man in a suit"-looking tyrannosaurs and "really big lizard"-looking dinosaurs in "Land Before Time" (1988), though nobody drags their tails.

I heard once that as much time has passed between now and the release of "Jurassic Park" as had passed between "Jurassic Park" and "Land of the Lost".
